African American Prostate Cancer Disparity Summit
The Prostate Health Education Network, Inc., (PHEN) is a nonprofit organization, whose mission is to increase prostate health education and awareness among the men at highest risk for prostate cancer in the United States, African Americans. Spotlight was responsible for event planning and coordination of PHEN’s inaugural “African American Prostate Cancer Disparity Summit” on Capitol Hill and has provided marketing support ever since.
The “African American Prostate Cancer Disparity Summit” is now entering its eighth-year as a nationally recognized event throughout the prostate cancer community. PHEN has grown its brand and expanded its partners, sponsors and survivor-base. Notable celebrities, prostate cancer survivors and activists have spoken at the Summit and publicly supported PHEN, including PBS commentator, Tavis Smiley, R&B singer Charlie Wilson, and actor Louis Gossett Jr.
