Telling a Story of Remark­able Growth

Chal­lenge
Com­modore Builders is a unique gen­eral con­trac­tor and con­struc­tion man­age­ment firm that was founded in 2002. The com­pany came to us as a rel­a­tively new­comer on the scene, to help them tell their story– as a new, highly suc­cess­ful firm with a dynamic and fresh man­age­ment approach to con­struc­tion. Nev­er­the­less, the firm was com­pet­ing in a space his­tor­i­cally dom­i­nated by larger and better-known con­struc­tion firms.

Response

  • Guided the firm’s devel­op­ment of a peo­ple centric-website.
  • Iden­ti­fi­ca­tion of pres­ti­gious awards with focus on growth, inno­v­a­tive lead­er­ship, and civi­cally engaged team members.
  • Cre­ative PR oppor­tu­ni­ties that cen­tered on Commodore’s strong record of com­mu­nity involve­ment, high stan­dard of excel­lence, and sub­se­quent fast-track growth.
  • Cre­ated a 15 Days Project, includ­ing a blog, time-lapse video and microsite, to show­case Boston’s first CI project to be LEED Cer­ti­fied Plat­inum, and on a 15-day fast-track schedule.

Result
As we helped tell Commodore’s story and strengthen its brand, the company’s sales began to rise and after two years of work­ing with Spot­light as its mar­ket­ing team, exceeded $70 mil­lion. Recently the firm was ranked 47thamongst the Boston Busi­ness Journal’s List of Top 100 Largest Pri­vate Com­pa­nies in Mass­a­chu­setts, on Inc. Magazine’s list of the nation’s 500 fastest-growing pri­vate com­pa­nies, the firm’s pres­i­dent & CEO was fea­tured in Inc. Mag­a­zine for his uncon­ven­tional and out-of-the box approach to man­age­ment. Com­modore was recently named one of the Boston Globe’s “Top 100 Places to Work.”
